Pets are late-game cosmetics.
General Description[]
Pets are special cosmetic items found exclusively in Awakened Mode. Each Pet is unique and resembles a different creature, some resembling already existing properties and others presenting new ones entirely. Pets do not serve any function and will simply follow their owner around. While doing so they drop little particle effects, the type fitting in with what kind of Pet they are. Regardless, they are purely collectable, cosmetic items.
Unlocking Method[]
Pets can be found by opening Reality Collisions found in Caves in Awakened Mode. These resemble square, fragmented piles of rocks glowing with a strange green energy. Upon being smashed opened, they will drop a random Pet, which will then be available for purchase in the Catalog for a sum of Gold. All Pets are unlocked by this method. Every Pet has the exact same chance to be unlocked, regardless if any players already have specific ones unlocked. Note that only the host of the lobby is able to see Reality Collisions, though they can be broken by anyone. Upon being opened, everyone currently in the lobby will have that given Pet granted to them in the Catalog. It is possible to get duplicate Pets, in which case they will not appear in the Catalog if they have already been unlocked. There are currently 23 different pets to collect in-game, along with one DLC-specific Pet.

December 8th, 2022 |
Note that while the Frobbit, Slime Ghost, Snow Sprite, and Sun Serpent were all added during a Season Event, they are not season specific and can be found during any time of the year, regardless if their respective Season Event is ongoing or not.
The Ham-Leaf Clover is provided immediately to the player upon purchase of the Support Pack DLC regardless if they have unlocked Awakened Mode or not.
Bugs[]
- If another player in the lobby does not own a Pet another user has, they will be unable to see it.
Trivia[]
- Some Pets feature similar looks to many Alternate Dimensions, suggesting that they may have originated from there.
- The Frobbit was the first Pet to be added for a Season Event.
- All Pets added in The Awakened Update cost 10,000 Gold, while all current Pets that were added during a Season Event cost zero Gold.
- The Ham-Leaf Clover is the only Pet without a description.
- Because of its unlock being tied to a DLC purchase, the Ham-Leaf Clover is the only Pet obtainable outside of Awakened Mode.
- During the creation of the Pet included in the Supporter Pack DLC, Nick Lives, the game's artist, was streaming the creation on Twitch at the time. He left it up to chat to determine what Pet to be created. Mr. Aqua, being the only user in chat at the time, recommended drawing "a pig that also looks like a clover," hence the design of the Ham-Leaf Clover.
- The name itself was also suggested by Mr. Aqua.
- Mr. Aqua wrote a small essay defining the symbolism of the creature, taking into account particular global trends during the game's time period set in the 1880's. To that end, Nick Lives responded with, "so you've clearly thought this through."
