Description[]
The Odobenus Ice Cave is a type of Civilization that is found at the end of the Frozen Waters. Odobenians populate the Ice Cave and, rarely, you will be able to recruit a Yeti Crab.
It is a huge cave made entirely out of large ice rocks held together by multiple Arctic Squid tentacles and protected by large spears placed near the entrance.
The following are the NPCs found in the Odobenus Ice Cave.
Odobenians[]
The Odobenians are the citizens of the Odobenus Ice Cave.
Description[]
The Odobenians are sentient walruses carrying spears, who live in a tribal society. In their ice cave, Parietal Art (cave paintings), beads and tapestry can be seen decorating the walls and floor. By their dialogue, it can be deduced they are not particularly intelligent, but are very friendly and cheerful, and will welcome anyone that visits them.
Behavior[]
When they first see a player, they will wave at them with their spear. They will stand in their positions and if a player interacts with them, they will talk with the player using their native language, which can be translated by the Translation Book. If they are attacked or robbed, they will chase the players and attack with their spears, and may invade the submarine if you try to escape. They are capable of destroying doors, meaning even your own ship will not be safe if you decide to attack them.
Tactics[]
The Dynamite is the best item to use if you want to kill the Odobenians and steal their goods. If no dynamite is available, large crews with healing items may be able to tank their damage and kill them. The Odobenians cannot swim, getting on a ladder and shooting them is the safest way of disposing of them.
Dialogue[]
- Ahooo rooo!

The Odobenian Visionary is the Doctor of the Odobenus Ice Cave.
Description[]
The Odobenian Visionary is a male Odobenian with a blindfold covering his eyes, indicating that he's blind, and a strange staff instead of the Odobenian's typical spear. He appears to be much wiser than his brethren and as he is capable of practicing medicine (albeit a rather unconventional one), he is the healer of the Odobenian society, and is an important asset for the survival of the primitive Odobenians.
Behavior[]
When he first hears a player, he will wave at them with his spear. He will stand in his position and if a player interacts with him, he will talk with the player using his native language, which can be translated by the Translation Book, and will instantly heal the player, restoring their health and curing any Afflictions. If he or his brethren are attacked or robbed, they will chase the players and attack with their spears, and may invade the submarine if you try to escape.
Dialogue[]
- Ruh oh! Ouchy roo.
- Do ya do! Step upchoo!
Yeti Crab[]

The Yeti Crab is a recruitable NPC rarely found in the Odobenian Ice Cave.
Description[]
The Yeti Crab, or Kiwa hirsuta, is a decapod crustacean that is notable for the quantity of silky blond setae (resembling fur) covering its pereiopods (thoracic legs, including claws), resembling the mythical yeti, hence it's name. In The Living Infinite, the Yeti Crab is bipedal (in fact, it only has two legs, as well as two arms) and sentient.
Behavior[]
Once recruited, it will join the crew with a pipe wrench and will be able to do many tasks, such as repairing breaches, attacking invading enemies or enemies inside caves or using the Submarine's Turret. Similarly to Crew Bots, they can be instructed through the use of the Command Wheel to order them to do specific tasks.
Trivia[]
- "Odobenian" is a play on "Odobenus", the scientific name of the walrus.
