We Need to go Deeper features many Unimplemented Features, primarily in the form of sprites.

General Description[ | ]

Unimplemented Features include anything that has been found within the game's files or code but does not make an appearance in game currently. Bare in mind that many of these items could be implemented in game at some point.

Hair[ | ]

Many different kinds of hair have been found within the game's sprites. Their name's and appearance's indicate that they would have likely been the hair of the various denizens of Civilizations. This in turn could imply that the original concept for members of Civilizations were to be more human-like in appearance. Either that, or they were intended be unlocked through the Catalog. According to the developers, these were designed during a shifting point of development, and it was decided to make numerous cosmetics during that time. These specific hair sets were removed due to being "ugly."

Speed Elixir[ | ]

SpeedElixir

An unused file known as the Speed Elixir exists. It's likely that this would've increased the player's movement speed. The main reason for the Speed Elixir's implementation is due to difficulty in implementation due to networking bugs. It was also found during testing to not be very great or interesting. In addition, it's possible that the reason for the Speed Elixir's unimplementation is due to the already abundant amount of Potions that are already present within the game. Another alternative could be that implementing this Potion would downgrade the special abilities of the Monkey Wrench and the yellow bottle from the Chemistry Kit.

Ranks[ | ]

Rank14

There is an unused asset known as Rank 14. It is likely that this would've been the Rank after Acolyte, due to not only it's name but also it's similarities in it's sprite. In addition, looking into the Levels in WNTGD spreadsheet provided by the developers there is another rank above Acolyte, named "Sea God". It's reason for remaining unimplemented could be due to the small amount of Items and cosmetics acquired at the Cultist and Acolyte ranks. Or, perhaps more likely, it is yet to be implemented in a coming update.

In addition, according to the same spreadsheet, there is another Rank name between Captain and Cultist known as "Dweller". It's reason for being unimplemented has to do with being renamed into Cultist.

Other Texture Sheets[ | ]

There are some texture sheets in the files that are currently unused.

Sheet Picture Name Reason For Unimplementation
SubmarineFloorTilesets-IronNoCarpet
SubmarineFloorTilesets-IronNoCarpet According to the developers, these floor textures were intended to be for The Requin, which instead of being yellow was going to be made of steel. It was removed due to setting a precedent of different material composure for each Submarine would have made it difficult to design the remaining Submarines.
TrashPotSheet
TrashPotSheet According to the developers, the Trash Pot would've been an item from the Trash Hermit. Supposedly it would've been item a player would've had to carry in order for it to grow. Eventually, after being fully grown, the pot would shatter and unleash some sort of plant monster. This would mean that this item would have been rendered completely useless, but would've been a nice gag.
