To enter The Ancient One, you must reach the bottom of The Meteor. Once there, the player must shoot at The Ancient One with the submarine's Turret. Once done, you will be teleported to the Space of Scholars. Once there, the Scholars will talk to the crew. What the Scholars say cannot be known unless at least one member of the crew is holding a Translation Book.

The Scholars will tell the crew that they are fools for awakening The Ancient One. They will tell the crew that in order to undo their horrendous mistake, they must activate three obelisks in a specific order, with the order pertaining to color. The order that the obelisks must be activated is random. In order to activate an obelisk, the submarine must touch the glowing orb resting on the obelisk.

Once the Scholars are done speaking, the crew will be teleported back into their submarine. Then, random enemies from every Biome will spawn near the submarine and will attack it. The obelisks will spawn in and portals to The Moon will spawn randomly for short periods of time.

Once the obelisks are activated in the right order, The Ancient One will be able to be entered. To enter The Ancient One, the submarine must go to the very bottom of The Ancient One. There, an opening can be seen, and if the submarine gets close enough to it, it will lock in place and The Ancient One will be able to be entered through the Hatch of the submarine, similar to Caves and similar Locations.

Ending One: The "Bad" Ending

In order to get the "Bad" Ending, any item except the Phonograph must be placed on the podium inside The Ancient One. Once done, a short cutscene will proceed. In it, The Ancient One grows in power and rises. Once the cutscene finishes, the crew is teleported to an unknown location in space. As the crew is shown floating in space, the song "We'll Be Found" plays and the credits roll. After the credits, a line saying "The crew was never found" appears. On the Death Screen, the newspaper says "The End is Here. All Hail the Ancient One" instead of its usual caption, "Another Crew Lost to the Living Infinite."

Ending Two: The "Good" Ending

In order to get the "Good" Ending, the Phonograph must be placed on the podium inside The Ancient One. Once done, a short cutscene will proceed. In it, The Ancient One slowly falls asleep and its glow dissipates. It also shows the opening at the bottom of The Ancient One closing, locking the crew inside it, as the record plays from the Phonograph. Then, crew is shown inside The Ancient One as the song "We'll Be Found" plays and the credits roll. After the credits, a line saying "The crew was never found" appears. On the Death Screen, the newspaper says "'Crisis Averted', Claims Time Traveller" instead of its usual caption, "Another Crew Lost to the Living Infinite."
